As I said in the earlier post we have been busy. We have had friends and relatives in and out and the good part is mom is doing good. She is hanging tough and is tired but one of the nurses who did her pre op told her to enjoy it because after the surgery she might not want anyone around. The surgery will tough and a long recooperation so mom is taking advantage of this time and trying to enjoy, visit and do all she can do.

When she got her pre op work done she meet the assistant surgeon. Just like everyone else she told mom what a great surgeon she has with Dr Price. We also found out that he does about 25-30 of these surgeries per month. That is great! In everything that I read they say you want to have an experienced surgeon doing this kind of surgery. I think he qualifies with this amount of surgery per month! He has also only had 1 person not make it thru the surgery but this person had renal failure due to "other" problems.

I feel good about the surgeon and his success, but we all have to pray that it has not spread to the point that he can not even do the surgery. This is not "exploritory" surgery, he is going in with the intent to do the Whipple procedure and remove the tumor but like he said it will be based on what he finds when he gets in there. So the prayer has to be that he WILL get it done and that mom will have no complications from this surgery.

Like I said she is doing good but mornings are bad for her. I guess that is the same for all of us close to the situation. You wake up and think it was dream and then BAM it hits that wait no this is happening. So the bad mornings are not so bad when we have family and friends around.

Our cousins from Florida, Tim Kathy and Kristi arrived Friday afernoon and we had a great evening. We hung outside in the back yard, which mom loves so she view and water her many flowers and we talked, laughed and had some good pizza and wings. Then moms nephew Brian and his wife Paula and their kids Peyton, Preston and Evelyn asked us to meet them at Graeters for ice cream. We had a nice time doing that sitting outside haveing ice cream talking and watching Evelyn pull her loose front tooth all by herself! It was a perfect evening.

I hope no one takes this the wrong way but it will be nice for all to be quiet and still for a few days. A few days break will be well appreciated and help in enjoying the next flow of people :)
