Ok the PET Scan did NOT glow on the spots of the Liver which means they can/will do surgery. Mom has opted to do the surgery and is scheduled for June 8th at 2:30. The surgery is called a Whipple Procedure and will take about 3-4 hours to do. Dr Price said you can do all the xrays and scans you want but until you go in and look you dont know for sure how far and/or if it has spread to the point that it can not be removed. But we have gotten to the point that they can attempt the surgery. She will be in the hospital for about 2 weeks, this is a very complex surgery. And she will have to have some chemo/radiation afterward just to kill any chances of it coming back.
